Breaking News: We’ve launched our own Scotty’s clothing with Tesco!!

We had some huge news last week that I’ve been waiting to share with you all for ages and finally the time has come ☺–Scotty’s Little Soldiers has started its very own supermarket clothing line with Tesco, how exciting!

It’s hard to believe but the Tesco is selling Scotty’s children’s clothing on its F&F website, with all of the profits going to Scotty’s to help us to help our members even more.

It’s the first time that Tesco have ever done this for a charity so we are so excited.  I personally cannot wait to see our clothing being worn by youngsters all over the country.  What a proud feeling to see a kiddy in the street wearing the range, it is just absolutely amazing.

The story started when we asked a friend to help draw up some funky children’s clothing designs for us and we sent these along with a letter to the Chief Executive of Tesco last year.  Sending out letters is always tough, as companies must receive hundreds so we never really thought we would receive any sort of response but we did!  I then went down to meet them and did a presentation about Scotty’s. They loved the charity and really wanted to support it.

We already have our own Scotty’s merchandise which is your typical charity merchandise and is available via our website but this is different altogether –a whole set of our own branded clothing for sale around the UK and I suppose worldwide!  The products are really trendy and fun and to be honest I think people will buy them without even realising they are charity clothing.  Then once they receive them through the post with the information tag explaining all about the charity, I think people will love that they have helped support Scotty’s at the same time.

I love the fact that we had a say in the designs every step of the way.  I have been dying to tell everyone about them because I was so pleased with them.  When my kiddies were sent samples I was over the moon and slightly emotional, whilst jumping round the kitchen!!  There are baby grows, hoodies and tee shirts, my personal favourite would be the boy’s white t shirt with dog tags printed on it – take a look and let me know what you think. We’ve gone with pink camouflage with sparkly love hearts for the girls, and the boys’ range includes helicopters, military symbols and camouflage.

The response from everyone so far has been really positive and if sales go well we hope that F&F will start phase two of the range soon.   This could raise the profile of Scotty’s on a national level and have a massive impact on the charity.  The more people that are talking about Scotty’s the more chance we have of reaching other families who we are yet to support.
